Examine the role of rules in our daily lives. Explore the impact of rules on family, the environment, and school. Think critically about the difference between rules for some and rules for all.

Learning Objectives:

  • (Social Studies) Compare different families and family life, or local rules and regulations (in the school or larger community).

  • (Character Development) Evaluate one’s own actions in a given situation.

  • (Character Development) Evaluate another person's or a group's actions in a given situation.

  • (Physical Education) Explore the rules of a sport or game.

  • (Literacy) Compose an opinion, supporting a point of view with reasons and information.

Materials/Preparation:

  • Rules for Some, and Rules for All worksheet

  • Art supplies

  • Boxes or jars

  • Physical Education materials (balls, bats bases, etc.)
