Lesson Plan: Making Everyone Happy

Great Thinker's Challenge:

Explore and think critically about what makes people happy. Examine and compare the different definitions of happiness, and develop strategies for sharing happiness with others.

Learning Objectives:

• (Literacy) Compose an opinion on topics, supporting a point of view with reasons and/or information.

• (Social-Emotional Learning) Evaluate possible outcomes in a given situation.

• (Mathematics) Create and complete a survey to gather data. Create and analyze a simple graph of that data to solve a problem.

Materials/Preparation:

• Making Everyone Happy worksheet

• Scrap paper, masking tape

• Graph paper

• Rulers
