Lesson Plan: The Stories We Tell
Great Thinker's Challenge:
Get familiar with different media “languages” (e.g., images, sounds, graphics, and words). Think critically about the media we chose to tell a story, how media influence the stories we tell, and who our stories can reach. Tell one story in different ways, using a variety of media, and consider how this story might be told in the future.
Learning Objectives:
(Literacy) Identify some media forms and explain how the conventions and techniques associated with them are used to create meaning.
(Literacy) Use available technologies to create media texts of different types.
(Literacy) Use grade-appropriate conventions, vocabulary, and terminology in oral, visual, and written form.
(Visual Arts) Apply the creative process to produce two- and three-dimensional artworks that communicate feelings, ideas, and understanding.
(Visual Arts) Identify and describe a variety of visual art forms seen in the home, at school, and in the community.
