Lesson Plan: The Game of Leadership

Great Thinker’s Challenge:

Explore and think critically about various ways to define a “Good Leader”. Create a story board for a video game, or an adventure board game that follows one person’s “quest” to become a good leader.

Learning Objectives:

• (Literacy) Formulate and answer questions on a theme or topic.

• (Literacy) Summarize information in a paragraph following conventions of writing.

• (Social-Emotional Learning) Examine what it means to be a leader and to have leadership responsibilities.

• (Social-Emotional Learning) Discuss cause and effect.

• (Visual Art) Represent a sequence of events visually.

Materials/Preparation:

• The Game of Leadership worksheet

• Scrap paper and a small box

• Art supplies and found objects
