Lesson Plan: Be The Boss

Great Thinker's Challenge:

Get to know a person who is in charge, or a “boss” in your school or community. Interview this person, explore what helps them make important decisions, and develop strategies for making your own.

Learning Objectives:

  • (Literacy) Formulate and answer questions on a theme or topic.

  • (Literacy) Summarize information in an article, following a particular writing convention.

  • (Social-Emotional Learning) Discuss leadership, and what it means to be a leader.

  • (Social Studies) Analyze the impact of leadership on the way people live and think within a community.

  • (Drama) Plan and act dialogue in a scene with two characters.

Materials/Preparation:

  • Be the Boss! worksheet

  • Short story or video about leadership

  • Paper and pen

Grade Range: 2-5
