Lesson Plan: Decide For Yourself

Great Thinker's Challenge:

Create a play/video about making decisions and how these decisions affect people around you. Explore and think critically about who makes decisions, the way that people make decisions, and how best to decide for yourself.

Learning Objectives:

  • (Social-Emotional Learning) Explore self-evaluation, decision making, and responsibility for one’s own actions.

  • (Literacy) Examine different media, and the persuasive arguments they use.

  • (Drama) Act out a short skit to demonstrate an idea.

Materials/Preparation:

  • Decide for Yourself! worksheet

  • Video camera (if available)

Grade Range: 2-5
