Lesson Plan: The Art Of Making Decisions

Learn to find the smaller questions that lead into larger, more complex questions. Practice evaluating these questions effectively. Examine the way that asking different kinds of questions improves our overall understanding.

Learning Objectives:

  • (Literacy) Write informative and explanatory texts to examine a topic.

  • (Visual Art) Use a variety of materials and techniques to create a work of art, including found objects and collage.

  • (Visual Art) Create a three-dimensional work of art that expresses ideas, inspired by personal experience.

  • (Social-Emotional Learning) Think critically about and take responsibility for one’s own actions and choices.

Materials/Preparation:

  • The Art of Decision Making worksheet

  • Scissors

  • Glue

  • A large clean glass jar

  • Permanent marker

  • Magazines, newspapers, found objects.

Grade Range: 2-5
