Don’t Forget To Play!
There’s all kinds of literature out there about the benefits of play in learning. By some estimations, what takes hundreds of repetitions through work only takes 10-20 through play in order to stick. Gamified learning is popular for a very good reason- it works! Let’s not forget how much more fun it is to play too!
All of this works into critical thinking. It seems like a pretty serious skill, and it is, but it’s still possible and preferable to approach it in a lighter, more amusing way.
With this in mind, we’ve set up our new Game On! page. It’s packed with silly, colourful, exciting ways to learn to ask and think through big questions. There are 12 different topics, with something for every kid’s interests (robots and art and nature, oh my!). It’s free, there’s no sign up, and we don’t collect any information, so a little thinker can just explore and enjoy. Not-so-little thinkers are welcome too (no judgement).
If you’d like to dig a little deeper while your kiddo plays, please help yourself to all kinds of lesson plans and learning resources from our new Lesson Library. Search for your child’s favourite subject, or just scroll through and see what catches your eye.
Happy thinking!
