Lesson Plan: Connections
Great Thinker's Challenge:
Create a web of connections between humans and other creatures/elements in the natural world. Brainstorm, organize, and connect living and non-living things according to the way they interact and depend on each other. Create a visual representation of these connections and reflect on the experience.
Learning Objectives:
Science) Investigate ways in which plants and animals depend on features of their habitat to meet important needs.
(Science) Demonstrate an understanding of a community as a group of interacting species, sharing a common habitat.
(Science) Describe ways in which humans are dependent on natural habitats and communities.
Materials/Preparation:
Connections worksheet
Print and online resources about a particular type of habitat
String or yarn
Scissors
Glue
Poster paper or large construction paper
Grade Range: 2-5
